One of my big splurges> DVD copies of my favorite movies! I do not buy pirated DVDs because I can't play them on my DVD player.
I rarely get the chance to really go to the moviehouse or theater. Because of this, I end up buying DVD copies of movies I want to watch. There are also movies that I've seen in the theater and yet, I still buy DVD copies of said movies. This will enable me to watch anytime.

We buy lots of movies at my house. I could probably easily open my on movie rental and have something for everyone in the family. My neighbors come over and pick out a couple of movies to watch at a time so that they do not have to rent them. It is getting pretty bad because I am running out of space for the movies and am going to have to come up with a better place to store them. Currently they are in the big stackable cubes. Guess this means a trip to the store for some kind of bookshelf. [sleepylittlerose]

Yes, there have been times when I liked a movie so much in the theater that when they were released on DVD I bought them. Or I have rented them, liked them, and bought them. I usually try to rent them before I buy them, but on rare occasions I buy them when I haven't yet seen them. I've never bought a pirated DVD either. I've only gone to the movies once in the last year, so I don't make it to the movie theater very often at all. The last movie I bought because I rented it and liked it so much I wanted to own it, was Enchanted. I have loaned it out to friends and family many times. I thought it was charming, and it made me feel good. Another one that I liked so much I bought it was The Transporter. In that case, it had been released several years ago, but I rented it anyway and liked it. The Transporter is a really good action movie. [AmbiePam]

I used to do that in past but now my mind is totally changed. Before I used to buy these films and keep it as my collection but these films have to be watched at instances and i have such a big collection and no time now too to watch all the old ones again and again. Why would you buy pirated dvd's if u can get originals for almost the same price... I always buy low budget dvd's if i find some wich I know are good. If u'r willing to spend the amount of money u spend on going to the theatre why is buying the original dvd's such a waste of money? [Jacobsonburx]

I buy DVDs when they are on sale. I like watching my favorite movies over and over again. My husband even laughs at me because I can recite lines in some movies. Hi dolce... i collect dvds of my favorite movies. I like to watch them over and over. Most of my collections are old ones which i have seen in theaters long time ago. I don't go to theaters anymore, not only it's expensive but i am more comfortable watching movies at home. I am low with comprehension especially with English movies,lol so it is convenient for me to watch at home so that i can replay the scenes that i don't understand. [Gareth126]

I only buy DVDs when i have problems with our cable connection which is usually when it is raining. And i buy the pirated ones because you can get around 12 movies per disk for just 50 pesos which is quite a bargain. But of course you have to contend with the picture quality and the sub titles which are way off what the characters are sayinglol. Another reason why it's pirated is because i don't usually watch movies again ones i've seen it. I can easily dispose of it with less guilt. [ybong007]
If the movie is really good, then I will buy a copy. I often buy copies of DVDs that I have rented, and then decided that I liked. I got one in the mail today, of an old James Bond movie, From Russia With Love, starring Sean Connery. I love that movie! I have rented it before, and now thanks to eBay, I own a copy. in my country there are alot!! esp the area i stay. the seller operates at night market, and each dvd is sold at very cheap price, it is about 1 USD for one dvd, and if u buy more it is much more cheaper. [winterweizen92]

we also have lots of dvd's and cd's collection in our especially movies that are for kids. my kids watched the over and over again I even memorized each line!LOL! I seldom go to the cinema to watch a movie,the price of the ticket is very expensive! Usually, i download the movie from internet, then bring it home , watch it by my projector, i also buy the Speaker,it is great! I also want to do that too but, with my current schedule, I really find it hard to do. I would really like to purchase movies that I really like and appreciate them when I have time to watch them at home. With that, I would really like to have a very good entertainment system at home and not just the oridnary television that we have when we watch programs from local channels. A bigger screen, better sound system and even the couches that we sit on would be in consideration.. (^_^") [ratyz5]

i rarely buy DVD copies of films, though it is very good to save some and re-watch at any time, but the DVD copies isn't cheep, and we would not know the copies of film isn't it worth to buy,on the other hand, we would find more way to watch,such as watch it on line or rent DVD to see at home is also good. good luck and have a nice day! mostly i will watch all of my favorite movies in cinema theaters, If i like the movie much, i will go for a DVD copy.. I will buy only original, and i can play the movie as many times.. I will be choosing the movies very carefully, so im not getting screwed or bored [gunagohan]

Maybe after a couple of months or a year that I have watched the movie, that's the time I'll buy a DVD.
