In this day and age we are all into using digital cameras for storing and sharing our memories... We don't have to go and wait for an hour or more just to see how our pictures came out. Now with digital cameras, we can immediately see how we look in a picture or how good the photo we took looks like.
I know some people who still love taking pictures using film cameras... it's all about how good they are as photographers or they just like to wait before they see the results. Other people i guess still enjoy taking pictures using film cameras.
Me? i think i'm more into digital cameras than film cameras... With digital cameras you can get high resolution photos. Although i would want to explore more on film cameras... but i just don't have the time to tinker about with it or wait until the films get developed. although i could wait for them to develop... i guess i just lost my passion in manual type photography... =). Haha.
So anyway i ask you this... do you or would you still use film cameras? Either the manual or automatic type? Why or why not?

I don't buy film for my camera anymore... my so called analogue camera is now my baby's toy... i now use a digital camera which is more convenient... since there is no need to go to a film store to buy film and have them developed... but i know a guy who has this passion for photography... who refuse to use digital cameras... i don't know why... but the pictures he takes are quite awesome... yeah people who are really passionate about photography still buy film cameras and/or use them i guess. From what i know, people who still use film cameras are either very good photographers or just enjoy using film cameras... =) [owstalaga]
I bought a 35mm SLR camera about a year ago. I absolutely love it! While I mostly shoot digital, I still enjoy shooting film here and there! I currently take my photos in to get processed, but I would love to set up my own darkroom some day! I also plan on getting myself a medium format film camera at some point. And maybe even one day I'll get a large format camera! I love shooting digital for so many reasons, but film can be a lot of fun too! [trickiwoo]

I certainly don't anymore. I don't even use my digital camera unless I go on holiday because my computer takes my pictures whenever I want, which means they are already stored ready to be emailed etc. I don't see too many adverts for developing films anymore so I guess those types of cameras are slowly going out of use. My husband just gave me a digital camera. I think you can save more with digital cams coz in film cameras, you'll buy films and pay for developing. And in digital cams you can edit, or delete the pictures you've taken before you develop it. [dhangski]
I would rather have a digital camera. I just spent $1500 for a HD digital Cam Corder. I am very happy with it. I also have another digital camera that was $800 and I got it at Best buy for $250 with an open box deal. The camera works great. I now have a new device that has an 80 gig hdd built in that allows me to download the cameras without a computer. You really can't do that with a film camera. Remember you get what you paid for. If you buy a low end digital camera you, for the most part get low end pictures. [cyberopjames]
i still have a camera that needs a film but i dont use it anymore i find it more expensive to but a film and after using it pay again for the developing. then when you see the shots that was not properly taken is really a waste of time and money. i still have two disposable cameras that needs to be develpo but i always forgot to. and i still have two desposable camera that i havent use yet. As much as I loved my professional film camera, I REALLY REALLY love the digital cameras..I swore that I wouldnt until my husband bought me one a few yrs back for Mothers Day...I've not gone back to film cameras since then LOL [Ravenladyj]

I personally love the look and clarity of film cameras, but being a computer nerd I don't use them. My mom has a really nice (~$700 several years back) DSL, a film camera, which she rarely uses due to the simplicity of digital. I find digital much easier to use than film, as you can take the picture and have it online or viewing it in under a minute later! :D [br3nn4n]

I definetly still like film cameras. I have a digital too, wich is great for taking lots of pictures as you can just delete the ones you don't want. However, i still really like film cameras. I still use my automatic film camera a lot. I think the photo you get with film cameras is a much better representation of what's happening. Digital cameras always try to compensate for some colours/lights and shades so it doesn't always look as it should. For example, i recently used my digital camera to take some pictures in the snow. As the snow is so bright the digital automatically made everything else duller and often the snow blended into the sky. However, with a film, it just takes it directly. Also, i tend to take longer with my film photos, i propery compose the photo, rather than just point and click. I also find with digitial pictures, people (me included) just store them on a computer and never really put them in nice albums the same. [duck2day]

I'm more on digital camera, cause you can edit it. You can delete bad shot photos and scan through them, unlike in film cameras, what you shot is what you get. But I still like film cameras, cause you have to develop the films in order to get the pictures and you will even have your own copy. In digital camera, you just can save it to your computer and even not print out a copy of it. I like having copies of the pictures I took... [Ranie19]
I have long since given up on film but the problem is that film cameras while still being sold are not near as popular and all the top camera companies are now digital and even some of the ones that were not digital have abandoned film and going digital. 35mm film will be still made but I have a feeling that it will go the same way as polaroid film went.... obsolete It will take a while to get there but you have to know that is the way its going. I use digital 99.99% of the time. However, I do have an old manual film camera and it kind of fun to have to do things manually and then hope for the best. I don't use the automatic film cameras anymore because digital is better. I'd say digital is also better than my manual Nikon, but I still love that camera because it's just so fun. But film is also so expensive to develop. I have like 5 rolls that I need to use but I'm always so afraid to use them because I know something could go wrong and I'd waste money developing that photo. I love digital though. Hopefully this summer I'll start taking more photos again. I used to take about 100 photos per week. Then I got bored of that after awhile. [Pigglies]

Since I had my digital camera, I no longer use the conventional camera with films. Why would I when I already have the advantage of taking pictures with digicam, see the outcome of your shots right away, redo your shots if you are not satisfied, and print only the shots that you want. With the conventional camera with films, we cannot do all the the things that I have mentioned above. It will be more economical to use the digital camera in the long run, since we don't have to buy films and we don't waste printing the shots that we do not like. Have a great day owstalaga! I still use a film camera simply because I haven't bought a digital camera. I really do want to switch over to digital though and plan to get one soon. I also like to be able to see my pictures right away instead of having to wait for them to develop. It usually takes me a long time to fill the film up so by the time it's full I have forgotten which pictures are one it. [brenmk]
I shoot digital. I always new that the rate of development in digital would eventually make film obsolete, and it saddened me. In 2003 I went to Africa with a Canon EOS5 and a Panasonic Lumix FZ20. I ran 300 images a day through the little 4megapixel Lumix and a similar amount of film through the Canon. That Canon is a pro level camera; the Lumix was, at the time, a well specified consumer camera. Yet since then, I have not taken more than 1 roll of film and the EOS languishes on the shelf. I often feel guilty about that ~ sort of disloyal. I still have the Panasonic (well, my wife does) and two others beside, plus a Canon EOS digital system. [Davidarich]

Digital cameras are the way forward I am sure,they are amazing really,to think that you can take the photgraph,and then print it off all within the space of a few minutes.I have a compact digital camera,but I do need to buy another memory stick for it though.My Mother still has her camera that uses the reels of film,I have tried to persuade her to buy a digital camera,but her opinion is that the photographs are no goo whatsoever if they are stuck on a disk or stored on a computer!she prefers to stick her pictures into albums.which in turn get stuck away in cupboards and the top off wardrobes and brought out when we eventually have a family get together,which is not too often nowadays. I don't but my auntie does and the other elders at home. They still prefer film rolls for their cameras. We have a digital camera and the old style camera which my mom or aunt uses. I have about $4000 worth of film cameras sitting in my workroom: at least, that is what they cost me. If I sold them today I'd be lucky to get a few hundred. They are just paperweights these days, but maybe some day they'll become collectors' items. As to the film I have sitting in a cooler...it is way out of date and probably useless. [Davidarich]

My husband just bought me a digital camara so I won't be using film camaras any longer. I like that I can see the pictures right away. Also I can take a specific part of the picture and print it out if I don't want the whole picture. I have been waiting a long time to get a digital and now that I have one that is all I will be using. [sunshinelady]
I no longer buy any film or use the old camera. Ever since the digital cameras came into the picture, I have stopped using the analog type. There is really a great advantage with the digital ones considering that you save a lot of money. happy [jpso138]

I still use film cameras. This is mostly because I drop stuff to often to actually own a digital camera that will work longer than a week. If I can ever get over my clumsiness, I will switch over to digital. But, I don't think that's ever going to happen. So I'm sticking to the older, more familiar, and more droppable film cameras.
