Though this film shows violence, (it is based on the setting of the story) it portrays lessons about being united amidst the war, it shows tactics of battle, strong principles, the queen's bravery and assertiveness.
It is a nice movie though at first (when I saw the trailer) I presumed that it was not a good movie.
I was wrong, after having watched the film; I remembered the saying " do not judge a book by its cover".

Yes, I've seen it. The battle tactics really impressed me, actually. And the queen's bravery also inspired me. She's a very strong woman and I thought that she was fit to be a queen. ;-D I was sad, though, since all 300 brave and strong men died. The movie also shows to me the importance of a messenger. We all need storytellers to carry on the stories of our ancestors. ;-D [ailema4ever]
I think I cried while watching this movie. Just like "Troy" which I really love and cried too. Classic movies like this, specially those historic ones are very must near to my heart. I just can't help admire the cinematography of these kind of films. God bless! [beauty_ph]

i also agree that 300 is a good movie. the effects were great and quality of the movie was finominal. but what i like the most, is the moral behind the story; as some people before me have stated. I think that the moral is, fight for what you believe in. Dont let anyone over power you, and stick together with the ones you trust the most. It also showed cunning and strategic planning for the war. 300 is like a story within a story. I forgot what his name was, but a 'creature' wanted to join them but he was sent away because he was handy capped. And i think that he was rejected rather abrassively...which in turn hurt his feelings. And so, in order for him to get revenge, he tells the enemy the secret passage to the weak point of the main army. so he betrayed them. but all in all,i think it was a spectacular movie. and i would recommend it to everyone if i could. haha, when i first say the trailor for this movie, i thought it said zoo because of the way it was written. i felt soo embarrassed when i told my girlfriend i wanted to see zoo.lol. but i enjoyed that movie alot. and i would recommend it to everyone if i could for viewing. great moral stories to it also. and the special effects are amazing. lol, ever seen 300 man with EIGHTpacks. it's incredible. i like the style of the movie as well because it's dircted by the same man that directed sin city and i loved that movie. but 300 also has a story, it tells us the story of 300 men ready to die for there country at all costs, it's a beautifull ancient greek tale [Unl3ashed]

Technically, it was a good film, no doubt, but it failed in many other aspects such as being realistic and there was a lot of American way of thinking in it. Even when you make a film based on another culture, you have to think like them to portray it. You to literally live like them to understand their culture and also speak like them. Those finer details were missing and also there were a lot of unnecessary scenes added which really spoilt some fun. But otherwise, the fighting was fabulous. I really liked it. [cobradene]

I did on DVD, not the cinema, so it's a bit late by the time I got it most people already watched it. I love both King and Queen, they are perfect fit to rule. The rest of the film we know the message. Quality, not quantity matters. Money can buy everything but love and honor. Freedom is worth more than gold. Really great movie. [LittleMel]

seven times........300 is an absolutely terrific movie. the attitude, the valour the spartans display send a chill down my spine. so much to keep their honour. they challenged and even demured a person who projected himself as god. i think they were bogged down by the wrong priests who just had no respect for these warriors. my personal favorite line in the movie when the king says : SPARTANS NEVER RETREAT!!!!!!!!!!. the greatest sequence when the king as a young lad fights the beast and also , when he kicks the intruder into the well..
