haha,crouching tiger,hidden dragon is very famous chinese movie in the world.you seem to be fond of chinese gongfu,coz jackie chan and jet li are both well-known martial arts actors. i like beautifull chinese actress,while they are not famous around the world.those have international reputation usually are not most beautiful in china.it's a very strange phenomenon. I love Jackie Chan. His movies are one of a kind and very popular. Zhang Ziyi even though I liked both of them in Memoirs of a Geisha. Ziyi just seems a bit more versatile in her expressions. She has also been in some really excellent movies, Crouching Dragon, Hidden Tiger, Rush Hour 2 and the House of Flying Daggers. My favorite Chinese actor is Chow Yun Fatt from Hong Kong. He is quite a prolific actor who has starred in many films. I think he started his acting career with the HK serial Man In The Net (the Good, the Bad and the Ugly -HK English title) and later into films like The Story of Alan with legendary Sylvia Chang, the well known A Better Tomorrow 1,2 n 3 where he co-starred with legendaries like Ti Lung and Leslie Cheung (demised), The Killer, American Shaolin, The God of Gambler 1 n 2, Peace Hotel, and then his stardom in Hollywood for the film The Replacement Killers directed by the well known action movie producer John Woo, then starred in other movies The Corrupter, Anna and the King, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Bulletproof Monk. Of late he has been starring in China productions like Waiting Alone, the Post Modern Life of My Aunt, the Curse of the Golden Flower with Jay Chou (the current hottest singer in China) and Escape from Huang Shi. He has acted in many movies and I have just listed some of them here as his prolific accounts here. I find that he is a very talented, versatile and charismatic actor who can fit into the many characters of a film be it the old classic Chinese folklore to the modern living society films. I am just awed and captured by his acting. I tipped him to be the potential Oscar Academy candidate. [skysuccess]
Yes, the actual title is Shanghai Grand a.k.a. the Bund. It was one of my favorite too. It was after the Man In the Net, I would recommend you to watch this one if you have not. He co-starred with the famous actress Dodo Cheng. Also, I failed to mentioned his numerous awards he had won during his career span like the Asia Film Festival (Best Actor), Golden Horse Award (Best Actor), Blockbuster Entertainment Award (Favorite Action Team - Internet Only), Saturn Award (Best Actor) and the San Diego Film Critic Award (Career Award). Without a doubt Jet Li is my favorite Chinese movie star, sophialin! He first came to my attention during the late '90s when I saw one of his films. I saw him in a few other films off and on, but he really received a lot of attention from the movie Romeo Must Die. I have quite a few of his movies in my collection but I need to add his two latest ones, War and The Forbidden Kingdom.happy [worldwise1]

Well.... For one Jackie Chan.. He is chinese right. His best movie which liked was Armour of God. Next best was the one who played the character of Sammo Hung which is my favourie of the actor. I like these two as they are mainly working comedies which are really comic. Plus they are also good in serious roles. [anuraa30]
My favorite male Chinese star is Chow Yun Fat and my favorite female actress is Joan Chen. I first saw Chow in The Replacement Killers.He was great in that film. And then I saw him in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.What a classic. It was the first film I saw in Chinese and not dubbed. That was a dream come true. I love Jackie Chan. He is my favorite. He is very versatile and is very natural. I've been dying to see him in person. The last time I was in Hong Kong he had a shooting there in one of his movies. I like Jackie Chan for his work in the Rush Hour Films, however I also like Jet Li for his work with the Late Great Aaliyah in Romeo Must Die :) I'm leaning more towards Jackie however because he is really funny, but I like them both... :) [4you4me4us]

I do love chinese films. But i have seen only action films only. But i would love to watch comedy, drama, serious types of chinese movies. So most of the film actors i know are from these films only.
